Above Seoul on the peak of Mt. Cheonggye, in the southeast corner of the city. Looking down from here, it’s hard to fathom how small the city looks when it is so totally engulfing to be in. You lose yourself down there, woven into the pulse of ten million people all packed into this concrete sprawl. Up here, you realize that indeed you were never lost.
My wife used to always try and get me to soak my feet in running waters after a day of hiking, but I was always in too much of a hurry to really appreciate just how refreshing it can be. Today we soaked our feet for a good twenty minutes and I swear I could have hiked right back up to the peak again after that.
